All the Performance of Chrome Without It
ADDITIVE BENEFITS
E.L.S.® is a chrome-free sodium lignosulfonate thinner for
all water base drilling fluids, including lime, gyp, sea water and
saturated salt.
E.L.S.® has broad range capability and thermal tolerance in
excess of 300º F. These characteristics
allow it to be used effectively in low pH salt muds, gyp muds and
lime systems.
E.L.S.® has the ability to inhibit swelling, sloughing, and
disintegration of the clay particle because it protects the particle
by encapsulating it.
OUR COMPETITION
In salt and gyp/salt contamination tests E.L.S.® out performs
all other chrome-free products and has near equal performance with
chrome lignosulfonate.
E.L.S.® was designed to be cost and effectively superior to
most, if not all other chrome-free lignosulfonates currently available.
E.L.S.® was made to compete directly with chrome lignosulfonate
with equal thinning and filtrate loss performance and superior inhibitive
character.
E.L.S.® also competes with Desco, Desco CF and DrilThin with
superior performance and a lower price.
E.L.S.® acts as a thinner by satisfying the electron imbalance
causing the aggregated flock of clay particles to dissipate rather
than disburse. Aggravated disbursement actually increases the viscosity
due to increasing the amount of particles which requires more water
to dilute. Water can be a very expensive additive in a weighted system
because you must dilution creates the need for replacement of the
other needed items in the system. This action occurs with chrome lignosulfonate
and quebracho.
E.L.S.® also has a lower price and better performance than
sulfonated quebracho.
TESTING RESULTS
E.L.S.® has been used in numerous tests evaluating its performance
in salt contaminated mud, gyp mud, and gyp/salt contaminated mud.
We have compiled several graphs showing these results as compared
to other products and methods. We invite you to review these graphs.
